The Turntable Range
Q: There are many Turntable Trucks in the range.
How do I know which one is right for me?
A: There are three types, with
the difference being in the method of steering.
The product codes starting with
TSL are Lightweight Turntable Trucks, designed for
light use. The simple construction ensures an economical
price. The TSK has a friction plate with a long kingpin
and is perfect for all manually pulled applications.
The product codes starting with
TSB have a ballbearing sweep between the turntable
and the platform. This is the strongest Turntable
Truck we make, and we recommend this product when
you are using a tow tug or fork lift to pull the Truck.
The product codes starting with
TDK and TDB both have the same turntable as the TSB
Turntable Truck, but have two of them linked by a
connecting bar. This type is designed to be used when
more than one Turntable Trailer is towed behind the
other. It ensures that the line of trucks will follow
the path of the towing vehicle, thereby allowing the
complete train to be pull around tight corners. This
Turntable Truck does not work well as a hand-pulled
unit.
Q: You offer three wheel types. Why?
A: The most popular and maintenance-free
wheel is the steel-centre solid rubber tyre. It has
a roller bearing to ensure free running over all hard
surfaces; it will not, however, cope with chips or
large bumps easily.
The steel centre 2 ply Pneumatic wheel
has a plain bearing. This is the most economical wheel
and has the easy-running attribute of the pneumatic
tyre, including the ability to cope with rough ground
and bumps in the floor, Thus ensuring a level ride.
The wheel works well on floors clean and free of sharp
debris, to avoid punctures .
The steel centre 4 ply pneumatic tyre
wheel has a roller bearing. We recommend this wheel
for power towing because the stronger tyre ensures
a longer life with less maintenance.
Q: Can I manually pull when I take the Tow Bar
option?
A: It is possible but the handle on
the tow bar is designed to allow safe hitching and
unhitching and is therefore lower down the bar than
the hand pull handle. So it is possible to pull the
trailer with the tow ring but not very comfortable.
